Favorite things......
Last weekend I traveled up north to spend time with Leila, Erin & Chris. On Friday night I got to babysit Miss Leila while Erin went to PLU to see "The Full Monty" which was under the musical direction of Chris. L and I had a fun night of movies, snacks and books. (and cuddles too!)
On Saturday night I got to go see the play with Erin and I really enjoyed it. Chris did a wonderful job with the music and the actors were terrific.
On Sunday before I left for home, we HAD to get in a walk with the wagon. It is one of our FAVORITE things to do! Leila gets her water bottle and blankie and settles in for the ride. Whether it is at her house or mine, we always try to get in a wagon ride if the weather cooperates. So here are a few glimpses of our little one enjoying the ride.

Greece 2011 "The rest of the trip"
This was the best area at the hotel to connect to wifi. As well as a nice place to plan our day.I chose this bed....
Jonny got this one. (age has it's privileges)
The view off our balcony.
Cute little bathroom I thought...
Jon got excited when he saw the this rock climbing sign. Sort of made my heart skip a beat when I saw the rocks and height!
On our way up the tiny windy road to ancient Thira.
Again....closed! First the Acropolis and now this. Seemed like we were on a roll.
But we took in all the sights while we were up there.
Really windy and high up. I was having to battle some of my fears at this point.
Our little Smart car took us all over the island.
Kamari beach. Black sand and so pretty.
We loved this place...would consider staying on this side of the island if I ever get back to Santorini.
It was Easter and we saw lambs on the spit everywhere we went. (head and all) It grossed me out enough that I didn't even try any lamb while we were there!
South end of island and the red beach. Really pretty but hard to get to.
We headed to the north tip of the island city of Oia to see the sunset. While having a bite to eat, a band marched by. We weren't sure what the occasion was but was fun non the less.
Walking around Oia....
Getting closer to sunset.
Jonny got us some Visanto (greek dessert wine) to sip while we watched the sun go down.
Next day we headed down to the Old Port.
We decided to walk the donkey trail and had to weave in and around the donkeys.
But they are so cute!
We made it and spotted a great little table at the Taverna .
My first Ouzo....we sure laughed alot and really enjoyed the sun and food.
At one point I thought I broke a tooth but it turned out to be a well cooked piece of food. (But it looked like a tooth so we thought it deserved a picture!!!)
On the donkeys heading back up the cliff.
Walking around the shops enjoying the views....
Next day took us to the wineries. The first stop was the wine museum.
Our second little Smart car.
Next winery was less touristy and we were served food with our wine.
Next and favorite winery was way up on the side of the caldera.
This was a fun time. And the food was really good.
Later that night Jonny treated me to dinner. He had bream (fish)
And I was a little less adventurous and had salmon.
The donkeys were pastured not far from our hotel. So we saw them everyday and heard their little bells tinkling.
On our last day we headed back to Oia for breakfast and took a different route. This one took us along the low road and we saw lots of windmills , farms and churches.
Our hotel, The Villa Evgenia, was so nice and clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a very reasonable place to stay in Fira.
We did get a little pool time that evening. The water was too cold to go in but we enjoyed the sun and ate greek M & M's. The colors are different....not as bright but kind of cool.
George, the owner and manager of the hotel became our friend. He was so helpful and told us about so many things to do and see. We had a fantastic trip and it is a memory I will cherish forever.
